Approach
Completion is not competence. I measure what changes in practice, not what gets checked off.
Surveys tell you what people are willing to check off. They rarely tell you why. I use a Motivational Interviewing (MI) approach in staff interviews: open questions, reflective listening, and no judgment, so people say what they actually think. That is how the real concerns come out, and how a list of complaints gets narrowed to the core problems worth fixing.
Validated surveys then confirm what the conversations found, so recommendations rest on both what staff said and what the numbers show.
The same thinking applies to training. Most organizations track what is easy to count: modules assigned, percent complete, quiz scores. What residents, clients, and customers need is the skill used correctly on every shift and kept up over months.
Client names are never shared without the client's explicit consent.
